1 day in Tokyo: Shibuya, Harajuku & Shinjuku

I had one day in Tokyo on July 23 before my teaching internship began. We were staying near Kanda in East Tokyo but decided to explore Shibuya, Harajuku and Shinjuku throughout our free day. I kind of just went with the flow of 10 other interns — led by one who spoke Japanese.

Shinjuku

We took the metro from Harajuku to Shinjuku. Apparently some interns wanted to do karaoke there but I ended up just walking around for an hour or so before returning to the hotel with another girl.

Kanda

We had dinner at a ramen shop near Kanda — the kind where you pay in a machine outside and give your ticket. I had tonkotsu ramen that was absolutely delicious when I was starving. It contained pork, onion, noodles and a comforting broth. Salty and very good.

The view from my hotel room day and night is below. You can see the Sky Tree around the center, the pointy building.
